1:4. അവയാൽ അവൻ നമുക്കു വിലയേറിയതും അതിമഹത്തുമായ വാഗ്ദത്തങ്ങളും നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഇവയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ലോകത്തിൽ മോഹത്താലുള്ള നാശം വിട്ടൊഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു ദിവ്യസ്വഭാവത്തിന്നു കൂട്ടാളികളായിത്തീരുവാൻ ഇടവരുന്നു.

1:4. Through these things he has bestowed on us his precious and most magnificent promises, so that by means of what was promised you may become partakers of the divine nature, after escaping the worldly corruption that is produced by evil desire.

1:4. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world's corruption caused by human desires.
